The dress has an asymmetrical front opening that begins at the collar and extends down the skirt. The young girl has a loosely fitted coat with full sleeves and a wide collar over a matching full skirt worn with a Eugenie hat. The young child is wearing a dress with a simple collar, bow tie, full sleeves and a heavily trimmed jacket that flares out over the hips and leads to a full, but shorter skirt worn over pantalets with stockings and button-top boots.
