- The Last and Newest Fashions, Fashionable Habits and Morning Dresses. The Riding Habits show a top hat decorated with flowing ribbons, a the Betsy collar (Elizabethan revival ruffle) tied with a bow, puffed leg-of-mutton sleeves with cuffed wrists, flowing skirts, and a slight jacket tail in the back. The Morning Dress has a face framing bonnet with feathers and ribbons, a lace pelerine (a shaped shoulder scarf), with bows and belts again emphasizing the waist, and puffed leg-of-mutton sleeves with cuffed wrists. The bonnets shown demonstrate a framing of the face front component with a puffed back area, decorated with ribbons, flowers, and bows (publisher unknown).
