Iowa RBA update for May 19, 1997. Highlights of the update include nesting Black-billed Magpies and the continued presence of a White-winged Dove. Also of note were sightings of Lazuli Buntings and Anhingas as well as birds seen on field trips held during the IOU Tri-state Meeting in Sioux City. Also included is a brief update from May 22, 1997, with sightings of a Mississippi Kite and a Common Moorhen.

Summary of the Iowa Birdline update for December 15, 1996-March 15, 1997. Highlights of the update include early winter sightings of an immature Pinyon Jay and a Clark's Nutcracker. Interesting observations from the Christmas Bird County were sightings of a gray phase Gyrfalcon and a Pine Grosbeak. Also of note were the late winter sightings of Great Gray Owls, a Ferruginous Hawk, and a Townsend's Solitaire.
