Summary for the Iowa Birdline update for May 13, 1990. Highlights of the update include two reports of Western Kingbirds from further east in the state than they are usually seen and a noticeable increase in the number of Warbler sightings statewide. Also of note were sightings of a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, a Sandhill Crane, and a Mississippi Kite flyover. In addition, there were reports of many species of shorebirds, including 3 Wilson's Phalaropes and 20 Hudsonian Godwits.

Notes for the Iowa Birdline update for May 8, 1990. Highlights of the update include sightings of two White-faced Ibis, a lingering Common Loon, a late Rough-legged Hawk, and nesting Cooper's Hawks. Also of note was the recovery of an injured Barn Owl and the presence of several species of shorebirds.
Email of the Iowa Birdline update for October 10, 1994. Highlights of the update include details on the later passerine migration, including sightings of Yellow-rumped Warblers and White-throated Sparrows. Also of note was the observation of thirteen species of Sparrows in central Iowa and a report from a hawk watch held at Grammer Grove Park, including sightings of 26 Swainson's Hawks and 55 Red-tailed Hawks. Also included are handwritten notes for the next week's update with sightings of an Ibis and a Red-necked Grebe.
Notes for the Iowa Birdline update for September 19, 1988. Highlights of the update include a recap of sightings from the fall IOU meeting, including a flyover Black-billed Magpie, nine raptor species, and a variety of Warblers for a total of 106 species seen. Also of note from around the state were observations of two rarely seen birds, a Western Tanager and a Prairie Falcon. In addition, sightings of several hundred American White Pelicans, 62 Caspian Terns, and an immature Black-crowned Night Heron were also reported.

Highlights of the update include sightings of a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, Sandhill Crane, the continued presence of a Laughing Gull, a nesting pair of Bewick's Wrens and two Cattle Egrets. Also included are handwritten notes for the next week's update with sightings of nineteen warbler species including a Yellow-breasted Chat and three Cape Mays.

Field notes were contributed by Robert K. Myers, summer 1984, with two other observers. Of eighteen species observed, many Cattle Egrets were seen near Glenwood, and many shorebirds at Sweet March. A singing Clay-colored Sparrow was observed in detail at Volga River R.A., and Kentucky Warbler was also found singing there. A Chuck-will's-widow was heard calling near Waubonsie. A Northern Mockingbird was nesting near Sidney. This item was used as supporting documentation for the Iowa Ornithologists' Union Quarterly field report of summer 1984.
