- June-July Iowa observations, Peter C. Petersen, 1984, were made with four other observers. Twenty-one species were listed with dates, number, locations, and comments. Birds with young or acting territorial were a Brown Creeper on Huron Island, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers and Scarlet Tanagers near Elkader, a Northern Mockingbird at Big Sand Mound Nature Preserve, and Orchard Orioles at Nye Cemetery. This item was used as supporting documentation for the Iowa Ornithologists' Union Quarterly field report of summer 1984.
