Annotation: Preface: Inclosed are selected photographs depicting pre-earthquake conditions and tsunami wave damage, and restoration conditions for the more heavily damaged populated areas in Alaska during the 27 March 1964 Alaska earthquake. The majority of the inclosed photographs are included in a report prepared by the Alaska District, Corps of Engineers, for the National Academy of Sciences. The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) is preparing to incorporate this report into a comprehensive work on earthquake damage, restoration activities, and technical information about the 1964 Alaska earthquake. Alaska District. Corps of Engineers. 1 March 1968
