The Negro Lyceum and clubs such as the Ariel Bowen Art Club, Callanan Industrial Club, and D.Y.W.K. Art Club held meetings and parties. Miss Mae Lee of Omaha won first prize in the Inter-State Literary Association. The A.M.E. Sunday School elected new officers under Supt. S. Joe Brown. The paper reported the shooting of barber A.L. Smith, community news from Cedar Rapids, Sioux City, Burlington, Albia, and Moline, and a holiday press review featuring Black newspapers nationwide, and other topics.
